Joybeck Custom Builders have always implemented building an energy efficient home and have tried to stay ahead of the trend by becoming a "Certified Green Professional" company.

There are three key areas in the green building effort and they are energy, water and material efficiency, and also durability.

1. With energy efficiency being the most important, this encompasses practices such as tight construction, improved thermal systems, adequate heating and cooling systems, air barrier continuity in the framing and sheathing stage, lighting efficiency using LED and Compact Fluorescent lights, energy efficient windows and Energy Star appliances.
2. The durability of a building is obviously extremely important. Without the balance of how the air, thermal and moisture barrier work together as a system, there is a adverse effect on building materials.
3. Water efficiency is also a very important component in the green building practice.
